Περίληψη : | The aim of the current thesis is to describe the functions of European Central Bank and investigate the impact of quantitative easing (QE) in the Eurozone. For that purpose economic data were collected for 10 countries of the Eurozone that were part of ECB’s quantitative easing for the period between 2012 and 2018. For these countries, through the use of panel data regressions, the impact of quantitative easing on unemployment, GDP and the rates of 10-year government bonds was examined. The results of the thesis verify that QE had a positive effect on the economies of the Eurozone countries as it led to higher GPD, lower unemployment levels and to lower rates for the 10-year government bonds.
