Abstract :	Ο βασικός στόχος αυτού του άρθρου είναι να εξετάσει τη μακροπρόθεσμη ισορροπία τεσσάρων παραγόντων που επηρεάζουν τις διεθνείς αφίξεις τουριστών στην Ελλάδα από Γερμανία, Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και Ιταλία μεταξύ του 2005 και του 2022. Οι λόγοι που λαμβάνονται υπόψη είναι το εισόδημα των τουριστών, η πραγματική συναλλαγματική ισοτιμία, το άνοιγμα του εμπορίου και η διεξαγωγή μεγάλων αθλητικών γεγονότων στην Ελλάδα. Η μελέτη χρησιμοποιεί το τεστ συνολικής εξάρτησης υπολοίπων, τον επαυξημένο τεστ Dickey-Fuller (ADF) και Phillips-Perron (PP) για τον εντοπισμό μοναδιαίας ρίζας, μεταξύ άλλων, το τεστ συνένωσης Johansen, το μοντέλο Vector Error Correction Model (VECM), το τεστ αιτιότητας Granger για την έρευνα των αιτιολογικών σχέσεων μεταξύ των μεταβλητών, και την Αποσύνθεση Διακύμανσης για τη μέτρηση της συνεισφοράς κάθε μεταβλητής στο σφάλμα πρόβλεψης, για να εκτιμήσει το αντίκτυπο αυτών των παραγόντων στη ζήτηση για τον τουρισμό στην Ελλάδα και να αναγνωρίσει τους βασικούς παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν τη συμπεριφορά των τουριστών. Τα αποτελέσματα αυτής της έρευνας μπορούν να έχουν μεγάλη αξία για τους πολιτικούς λήπτες αποφάσεων, καθώς μπορούν να ενημερώσουν τις πολιτικές αποφάσεις που στοχεύουν στην προώθηση του διεθνούς τουρισμού και στη διασφάλιση της βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης στον τομέα. The main objective of this paper is to examine the long-run equilibrium of four determinants on international tourist arrivals in Greece from Germany, United Kingdom, and Italy between 2005 and 2022. The determinants considered are income of tourists, real exchange rate, trade openness, and the occurrence of mega sport events in Greece. The study employs residual cross-sectional dependence test, the Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) and Phillips-Perron (PP) test for unit root detection, among others, the Johansen cointegration test, panel Vector Error Correction Model (VECM), the Granger causality test to investigate the causal relationships between the variables, and Variance Decomposition to measure the contribution of each variable to the forecast error variance, to estimate the effect of these determinants on tourism demand in Greece and identify key drivers of tourist behavior. The findings of this research can be of great value to policymakers, as they can inform policy decisions aimed at promoting international tourism and ensuring sustainable growth in the sector.
