This thesis utilizes a mathematical optimization problem to encourage decision making for maritime companies that accommodate passenger shipping in Greece. A range of constraint functions are formulated in order to reinforce the credibility of the problem and improve its reliability towards the optimal solution. More specifically, the authors of this thesis focus on exploring the optimal vessel routing with the simultaneous minimization of fuel consumption for a fleet of up to 12 passenger vessels in the geographic region of the Aegean Sea. In detail, data for passenger vessels from Piraeus to the island group of Cyclades are employed.
