Τεκμήριο Digital courses development: focus in universal design(2020) Lazaridou, Stefania; Λαζαρίδου, Στεφανία; Kapetis, Chrysostomos; Kotidis, Yannis; Androutsos, AthanasiosThe existing dissertation aims to explore and analyse the field of equal learning chances in the digital world. Many people of the world’s population suffer from a form of one at least disability, which make their experience as users on the internet either worse or just challenging. Although there are today assistive tools like ChromeVox (a web reader), that can help people with some kind of visual impairment problems, are these tools enough for them? And if someone wants to learn anew foreign language online, will their user experience be worthy and productive? According to universal design for learning (UDL) the above question can be answered positively. Designing a digital class with the UDL guidelines people with any kind of impairment can be offered a chance to enjoy internets benefits without a great deal of effort. After surveying the answers of multiple people, with and without a disability, a digital class was created with German language lessons for Greek people, which are accessible to everyone, no restrictions whether someone has hearing problems or dyslexia. Moodle was the main platform that was used for this project and consists of many different kinds of exercises and interactive content. Finally the application was ready after considering all user’s expectations and needs. Our users were asked to test it and support us with their feedback, pointing out anything they liked or is liked about it.
